I don’t like what I do

Change Can be HARD, and You DON’T have to Face it Alone!

My Goal in the therapy room is to help you feel heard and understood. Sometimes, discussing things you may not have processed before can seem intimidating, and I want you to feel known. My role is to work alongside you to reach your goals, valuing the honesty within our relationship most. I offer various services to meet your needs, including children therapies, teen group therapy, and women focused therapy.

I don’t like what I do

One of my favorite quotes is “Be like the turtle, at ease in your own shell”

This rings true to me on a few things… my love for turtles and the idea of embracing and loving yourself, flaws and all.

Change Can be HARD, and You DON’T have to Face it Alone!

My Goal in the therapy room is to help you feel heard and understood. Sometimes it can seem intimidating to discuss things you may have not processed before and I want you feel known. My role is to work alongside you to reach your goals valuing the honesty within our relationship most.

If it is meant to be, it will be.

I am a positive person by nature, and I always look for your strengths while striving to be an open and empathic listener to the struggles you face. I believe wholeheartedly in your strengths, and I will try to point them out at every opportunity. I can’t wait to celebrate your successes and help when you need a push to keep moving through your setbacks.

If you work with me, you will hear, multiple times, ‘What is working in your life right now? ‘. I’m not the type of clinician who dictates solutions. You have the tools to discover them, and I offer an outside perspective to sort through challenges. You are the expert on you! If your struggles involve relationships, I can guide you towards approaches like CBT couples therapy.

One of the biggest misconceptions about mental health is that someone needs to be desperate or at “rock bottom” to seek care. Things do not need to be the worst they have ever been to ask for help! There is no issue too small to bring to therapy, and there is something powerful in asking for support. I am excited about how therapy is becoming more and more normalized. I firmly believe that everyone can use help occasionally, especially when considering approaches like CBT couples therapy.
I choose to view mental health holistically. It is the combination of strengths and struggles that someone experiences, neither being wholly good or bad. Mental health is something that needs to be cultivated individually for each person in their own unique way.

What I love most about being a therapist is hearing your stories and getting to meet diverse and interesting people! I love learning about your world and perspective, and I get excited thinking about cheering you on as you make progress and reach your goals in life.

My ideal client is someone who is thinking about or ready to make changes in their life. We will co-create treatment goals together so we have a clear direction for where you want therapy to take you, like exploring approaches like CBT couples therapy if your goals involve relationships. Every session, we will close by noting at least one helpful thing: recognizing your progress. I also typically encourage one experiment between sessions, like journaling or a new coping skill.

The best advice I ever received was, “If you want to change the world, start by making your bed.” To me, this emphasizes the value of small changes and the big impact they can have on our lives.
